Are douches undamaging to use?

Is it safe to use a douche? Someone told me they effect vaginal cancer. I don't think that they create cancer. However, most doctors don't recommend that you douche, because it will wash away the "good" microbes in your vagina, and could do a rise in the frequency of yeast infections.
But, I'd confer to a health professional, they'd be capable of direct you much better.
I don't advise using them.
