help! i am taking the dianette contraceptive pill for 4 years and am on my 3rd one of my up to date packet, im also taking Amoxil syrup(as this is mostly givin to children i didnt think it would effect the pill!) i have unprotected sex and im not sure what to do, i can still take plan b but later again im only on my 3rd pill so i dont know! serve xx I hear so much about antibiotics affecting the pill but after closely of googling I have come to the conclusion that at hand is usually no interaction except in the crust of Rifampin and possibly a few other cases in a tiny tiny percentage of women.
You should bargain to the prescribing doctor or dispensing pharmacist about this, if you haven't already. Usually they still do support condom use while you're on the pill and antibiotics, just to cover their arses. Normally you shouldn't clutch Plan B while on regular birth control but some women do.
I would recommend checking with your doctor back trying to take anything else even so to see what they say.
